WELCOME TO

ZION'S EDGE MASSAGE

Anchor 1

I'm here to promote the life-changing idea that our the key to releasing pain for good takes a multi-faceted approach.  The bodywork methods that I use have the potential to end chronic pain, fix injuries, fix muscle spasms and tightness, and promote health and healing in an individual.  I've also discovered how important it is to address the somato-emotional component of pain to help it to not return.  As an athlete, I have suffered through a never ending line up of injuries and eventually chronic fatigue.   As a mom of 4, I've felt the impact of pregnancy and stress on my body.  I've been able to experience how these problems in the body can be healed through massage therapy.  As a practitioner, I integrate alternative and conventional therapies to treat pain that comes on as a result of trauma, lifestyle choices, athletic training,  or unhealthy body patterns.  I work with you to help your body to heal emotionally and physically, and give you tools to keep your body in that optimal state. Why wait to end your pain?

Healing Therapies

I offer a variety of services, as I work with different modalities to eliminate chronic pain.  This gives your body the best chance to realign and heal. Your session will be tailored to your specific needs and can involve one or many of the modalities listed.

Sports Injury Massage

Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete's sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.

I specialize in sports injuries,  and pre and post event massage to help get you back to your event as quickly as possible.  I use a variety of techniques, such as gua sha and cupping to speed up muscle recovery,

Deep Tissue Massage

This modality focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, and releasing muscle spasms, and fascial adhesions. Pressure is applied deep and slow and requires more time spent on each muscle group.  This therapy is ideal for those who have chronic pain or injury, need postural realignment, have a sedimentary lifestyle or job that requires a lot of sitting, or for those who enjoy deeper pressure.  This treatment will generally be applied to specific areas of pain and other muscles that may be contributing.  Because of the slower nature of Deep Tissue, full body treatment requires longer sessions.

Gua-sha is an ancient Asian bodywork treatment for healing of chronic pain.  It is especially effective in releasing tight, painful areas that inhibit movement, allowing for greater range of motion. A smooth tool made of stone, steel, or bone is used to release tight fascia, and breaks down scar tissue and adhesions.  It is extremely effective and

I use it in almost every massage, but it is important to know that it can leave reddening in areas of greater tension that can last up to 4-6 days.

Gua Sha

Cupping

This treatment uses special suction cups to lift the skin and muscles to release fascial adhesions that cause the body to hold on to chronic pain.  It also relieves tight muscles, restores skin and muscle tone, and boosts the immune system.  This treatment is highly recommended for those who have multiple areas of injury and pain, those who have high training loads, or those who have experienced high levels of stress throughout your life. It is important to note Cupping can leave redness that can stay around for 4-6 days.

Thai Yoga Massage

This modality works to realign postural imbalances by addressing the whole body.  By using myofascial release techniques, it effectively eliminates pain by fixing the origin of the problem, while enhancing flexibility and whole body awareness.  It is highly recommended for those who have a sedentary lifestyle or a job that requires a lot of sitting to those who prefer bodywork done fully clothed.  Those who have high athletic training loads, multiple injuries, chronic lower back pain or muscle inflexibility.  This treatment is performed fully clothed, so please wear movement oriented clothing (yoga clothing).

Cranial/ Sacral

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on treatment that may provide relief from a variety of symptoms including headaches, neck pain and side effects of cancer treatment among many others.

CST uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity.

Massage Salts

Swedish

Swedish massage is a gentle, rhythmic massage which replaces soft body tissue, alleviates stress and tension, and contributes to a sense of overall well-being.  It is generally lighter in touch and often includes long flowing strokes to assist with deep relaxation.
This modality is ideal for those who need a stress-lowering activity, have trouble sleeping, have poor circulation, or just need some positive, meditative times to relax.

Red Light RF Cosmetic Treatment

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy, also called radiofrequency skin tightening, is a nonsurgical method of tightening your skin. The procedure involves using energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis. This heat stimulates the production of collagen in the face and body.

Cupping and Gua sha Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is caused by uneven areas of fascial adhesion.  Cupping and Gua sha are used in this treatment to release these areas of fascia to greatly improve the appearance of cellulite.  New collagen is produced and helps the skin to look younger and healthier.
